- Description:
- This painting includes an oak limb. Sara Menaboni always referred to it as "my picture" and insisted it was painted after she and her husband personally observed its subject. When it appeared on the cover of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution Sunday Magazine on February 25, 1945, it caught the attention of an executive with Rinehart and Company and eventually led to the publication of Menaboni's Birds in 1950 (in which it is also featured).
