- Description:
- Stark Mill was built in 1922. This plant was built by Lockwood, Green and Company of Boston, the owners at that time of the Hogansville and LaGrange plants of the New England Southern Mills. It was afterwards sold to the United States Rubber Company. In the backgound is Reid Mill. It was acquired by Callaway Mills in the late 1920s and renamed Calumet Mill Hogansville. In 1942, the mill was bought by the United States Rubber Company and renamed "Reid Mill" after it's longtime supervisor, David G. Reid.
