- Description:
- George M. Forrester Papers: The Hotel Colonial was located at 119 Ridley Avenue in LaGrange, Georgia, is a historic building with a rich past. Opened in 1921 by sisters Anna, Lois, and Ethel Young, the hotel was designed in the Georgian Revival style. Over the years, it hosted numerous travelers, including Franklin D. Roosevelt in 1929, prior to his presidency. The Young sisters contracted with the Atlanta architectural firm of Ivey & Crook to design a large, new hotel, which was an addition to the front of their home.
