- Dr. John Render Turner, a graduate of the University of Georgia and the Medical College of the University of Georgia, served in the Navy in World War II as a physician. He began practice in LaGrange in 1947, retiring in the 1990's . His office was for years located behind the First Baptist Church on Church Street in LaGrange.
