- Description:
- A caboose is a car on a freight train used by the train crew, typically positioned at the rear of the train. It served as a shelter, office, and workspace for the crew, including the conductor, brakeman, and flagman. Once a common sight on freight trains, the caboose has largely been replaced by electronic End of Train (EOT) devices.
