- Reid Mill of U.S. Rubber (Uniroyal). Originally Hogansville Calumet of Callaway Mills. During World War II, U.S. Rubber purchased it to facilitate wartime production. Renamed Reid Mill after a long time superintendent of the mill. One of the few factories in the US to produce woven asbestos pipe insulation for the U.S. Navy. Reid Mill shut down during the 1960s and was demolished soon afterward.
