- This collection contains documents, clippings, memorabilia, and narratives documenting the experiences of Wendell Leon Jones (15 June 1926-8 July 1962) in World War II. Jones, a native of Worth County, Georgia, enlisted in the Navy while still in his teens. He was discharged from the Navy in May, 1945, having survived shipwrecks and numerous wounds.
