- Description:
- Silent, color moving image footage shot in Thomasville, Georgia that begins with numerous scenes of an "All America Rose Selections Test Garden." This is followed by a shot of traffic on a busy town street, a shot of three women approaching the entrance of Greenwood Plantation. The three women then walk the plantation grounds. There are further shots of plantation-style buildings, interspersed with shots of automobiles driving down streets. These are followed by a shot of town storefronts. Next, golfers play at the Glen Arven Country Club. There are more shots of plantation style homes, and bustling town streets. Next is a historic marker for Thomas County. This is followed by a shot of a group of women creating flower arrangements on a group of tables. There is a shot of a map that zooms into Thomasville, Georgia. Next are several newspaper clippings that read: "Months Of Planning, Hard Work Go Into Staging Rose Festival," "Beauty Pageant Launches Whirl of Festivities," and "Sunny Skies Predicted For Annual Rose Show." This is followed by a shot of cows grazing in a pasture with trees, a shot of men planting roses in front of the Chamber of Commerce, and cars traveling down a road with a billboard that reads "Welcome to Thomasville City of Roses. Please be Our Neighbor...And Settle Here." Next, a shot of a building with a large, three-dimensional Sunbeam Bread sign built into the roof, followed by a plot of farmland, and a person crumbling dirt through his hands. This is followed by several aerial shots of the Thomas County courthouse, ground-level shots of the farmers market, and farmers loading produce into baskets. Next, two men inspect and record notes on rose bushes. The last shot is of the front of a brick building with white columns.
