- Description:
- Folder of letters, postcards, and Christmas cards written primarily to Eva Elizabeth "Bessie" Baker Beamer (1864-1955). Most letters contain family news, thank-yous for gifts given, concerns for Beamer's foot trouble, the health and doings of family and friends in Thomasville, travel plans of friends and family members, and inquiries about Beamer's daughter Hazel Beamer Cutler (1901-1980), who was living in New York City attending college and pursuing a dance career. Among Bessie Beamer's correspondence is a letter from "George" (Hazel Beamer Cutler's boyfriend George Schleich) that reports on the health of Hazel Beamer Cutler in the aftermath of a tonsil operation, a 1936 letter to Hazel Beamer Cutler regarding an order for a print of Dartmouth College, and Christmas greetings from family in Nashville.
