- Letter written by illustrator, portrait artist, and muralist Dora Wheeler Keith (1856-1940), dated August 29, 1924, to Eva Elizabeth "Bessie" Baker Beamer (1864-1955). In the letter, Keith notes either travel or chaperoning arrangements for Mrs. Beamer's daughter Hazel Beamer (before she took the married surname of Cutler, and who lived from 1901-1980). Keith expresses regret at not being able to see Mrs. Beamer that summer and hopes that her foot heals. Dora Wheeler Keith and her husband, New York lawyer and reformer Boudinot Keith (1859-1925) were Hazel Beamer's hosts and guardians in New York City, where Hazel Beamer attended college and performed as a dancer before she married.

New York [???] 30 2 sheets 3 Pages 5 Treads Mrs. Boudinot Keith Thursday ONTEORA CLUB TANNERSVILLE, N. Y. Dear Mrs Beamer I am so glad [???] times has arransin itself so well. It did bother me a little nor Knowing how to fill in those few days. I wish you could have wait until monday the 8th but its a tremendous gain to Mary until Friday. If K. will stay with Hazel until Monday it will be alright. It seems dreadful than & should not have seen you [???] summer & I cant tell you how sorry I am but it could not be helped & it has been the greatest comfort to me that you could be with your chickens. if will make it easier for you to be parted from her this winter. Another year however. I will know how to-morrow with out K for it seems to have been too much. Im wondering what Shubert is having [???] his [???] for Hazel & am hoping it will be a New York show.
