This past season the Savannah State Tigers won the first SIAC championship ever,
sweeping two from Bethune-Cookman, 6-0 and 6-5.
Larry Bradley won the opener and Al Wilson the title cliccher. The batting star was Lee
Blitch, the Team's Most Valuable player was Greh Baxter.
John Myles coached The Tigers. The Tigers look forward to winning the title again, with
only three players not returning.
In 1977 the Savannah State College Tigers made History.

EDITOR
As the 1977 school year ends at Savannah State College, the College by the Sea, we have tried to
capture all that is to be kept in mind and put it into this yearbook. We, the staff of the 1977 TIGER,
hope that we have succeeded in accomplishing all of the memories that vou would like to keep stored
in your minds.
My thanks goes to Mr. Gus Howard, Ms. Barbara McFall and the members of my staff who have
worked diligently and stuck with this publication to the end. We have faced many trials, but
expectantly survived them all. We have enjoyed working together and hope you can appreciate and
cherish the finished product.
As you turn through the pages of your 1977 TIGER, sit back, relax and continue to support the
TIGERS at S.S.C. the College by the Sea.
Sincerely,

In years to come this edition as well as others should become a treasured memoir for all of you. In
putting this book together we tried to capture all of the events and scenes that made our college lives a
"unique TIGER experience."
I would like to take this time to thank the administration, faculty, staff and the students for your
support.
I would like to offer a special thanks to Mr. Gus Howard and Ms. Barbara McFall for their devoted
efforts in helping us.
Last, but definitely not least, to Stephanie and the other members of the staff, thank you. I love you
and may God shed his richest blessings upon you all for laboring so hard and long.
