- A photograph of a group of patients relaxing in the lobby of the Meriwether Inn at the Georgia Warm Springs Foundation, Warm Springs, Meriwether County, Georgia, sometime between 1927 and 1934. Built in 1893, the Meriwether Inn was the centerpiece of the old Warm Springs resort, and of the Georgia Warm Springs Foundation from 1927 to 1934. The Georgia Warm Springs Foundation tore down the inn in 1934 to make way for new, more accessible structures in keeping with the foundation's new mission as a polio rehabilitation center.
