Driving Miss Daisy was originally written as a play by Alfred Uhry. Set in Atlanta before, during, and after the civil rights movement, the work explores the relationship between Miss Daisy, a southern Jewish woman, and her African American driver, Hoke. Morgan Freeman played Hoke in both the Atlanta premiere of the play and the film. Jessica Tandy portrayed Miss Daisy in the film version. - Metadata URL:
