Photograph of a horse-drawn ambulance parked in front of Grady Memorial Hospital in downtown Atlanta, Georgia, 1896. The ambulance is painted black. The hospital, which rises in the background, is a three-story brick structure resting on a granite base. It features Romanesque revival architectural elements. An archway leads to an entrance portico. A tower with arched windows rises from the left side. A porte cochere with an arched entrance and arched sides stands on the right of the structure. A smaller building stands to the right of the hospital. Named in honor of journalist Henry W. Grady, the hospital was built in downtown Atlanta in 1892. - Metadata URL:
