Photograph of the altar at the Big Bethel A.M.E. Church in Atlanta, Georgia. The large curved altar is surrounded by a low white railing. Red carpet covers the floor. Several rows of chairs for the choir members stand near the back of the altar. An arch in the back wall holds the church organ pipes. Two arched windows on either side of the pipes echo the center arch's curve.
