- A proponent of the Lost Cause ideology, Clement Evans was a Civil War veteran, minister, student of military history, and cofounder of the United Confederate Veterans.
Photograph of Clement Evans. He is shown in this portrait wearing a suit. Evans, a native of Stewart County, Georgia, served as a judge, state senator, soldier, and Methodist minister during his varied career.
