This image shows Charles McCartney, also known as the "Goat Man," who was a traveling preacher who roamed central Georgia in a goat-pulled wagon in the mid-twentieth century. He sits at the helm of a low covered wagon. A team of small goats is attached to the wagon. Many items are fastened to the top of the wagon, including a metal tub, a folding chair, and a basket. The wagon is parked by a curb, and an African American man sits in a chair next to the wagon. A telephone booth sits behind them. A sign advertising Budweiser beer rises from the telephone booth. This image comes from a color postcard. - Metadata URL:
