- Description:
- Early plan of Fort McPherson, which was located in southeast Atlanta from 1885 until 2011.
Image of an early plan of Fort McPherson, in southeast Atlanta, Georgia. Capt. Joshua West Jacobs designed the layout of Fort McPherson in 1885, a sketch of which is shown here. Though much has changed, Hedekin Field is still as visible today as it was in this sketch. The plan shows two long parallel rows of buildings at the bottom which are divided by a field. A road encircles the fort, and trees are depicted around the periphery. - Metadata URL:
