Photograph of the "Gate of Opportunity," a brick gateway at the main entrance of Berry College in Mount Berry, Georgia, near Rome. Colorful flowers grow below the brick wall, which is emblazoned with the words "Berry College. Gate of Opportunity." The brick wall and a companion gatehouse were completed in 1964. Philanthropist Grover M. Hermann, who gave money to construct a new administration building, included provisions in his gift for the entrance structures.
