Photograph of Ben Epps Jr. and Harry Epps, two of aviator pioneer Ben Epps's ten children posing in front of a biplane. His eldest son, Ben Epps Jr., at age thirteen was at the time the youngest pilot ever to solo.
The father of the state's aviation, Ben Epps--inventor, mechanic, and aviator--was the first Georgian to build and fly an airplane. Over a thirty-year career Epps was an innovator who instilled a love of flying in many young Georgians, including his own children. - Metadata URL:
