Since its founding in 1935, Armstrong Atlantic State University has evolved from a junior college supported by the city of Savannah into a four-year unit of the University System of Georgia. It now offers a full undergraduate curriculum as well as several graduate programs. Within the university system, Armstrong has been designated a Regional Health Professions Education Center.
