- Sarah Emerson is a 2014-2015 Working Artist Project award winner. The Unbearable Flatness of Being was a panoramic painting installation that included eighteen individual paintings, which could be combined to create one expansive landscape. The paintings were separated into four sections, Of Brute Matter (I-VI), Where the Light is as Darkness (I-IV), As Above So Below (I-VI), and Here's Looking at You Too (I-II).The exhibition was curated by Siri Engberg and the catalog includes an essay by Denise Markonish, with photography by Michael McKelvey.
