Carson, Joseph Perryman –November 9th, 1888–To: CharlotteAtlanta, Ga.Nov 9th, 1888My Dear Charlotte;I would have written to you before now, but thought every day I would start home. Fousothinks I have done him valiant service, and even now he will not hear to me leaving him. The Election comes off on Monday next, and he has this moment told me I must stay with him and see him through. I have decided to do it, so you may look for me Tuesday. I have this afternoon had an interview with Genl Gordon I have sold out to him, but have given him 30 days to raise the money. I sell everything House Land Engine Cattle Hogs and all. See Mrs. McKellan if convenient, and tell her to do nothing tillI come and then I will buy if we can agree on the price. But be sure and let it all be in confidence. Tell Briggs I have bought his suit but will not express it as I shall bring it when I come. Tell Beulah I often think of her and that she must be a goodGirl. Tell Briggs Keith and Joe I will try and bring them something, and that they must mind you to the letter. Now my Darling Good buy till I comeYours devotedlyJ. P. Carson
