- Black and white potrait of Stephens surrounded by red decorative design. Charles Magnus, the New York City printmaker, is identified on the front of the print. Alexander Hamilton Stephens (1812-1883) was the vice president of the Confederate States of America and a Georgia native. Stephens represented Georgia in the United States House of Representatives from 1877 until 1882. He was elected governor of Georgia in 1882, and he died in office the following year.
