The greatest blessing of the age! Prof. Kayton's great remedy for pains and aches: The oil of life! ... Savannah, Ga. Power press, E. J. Purse. [c. 1869].

Entered according to Act of Congress, in the year 1869 by H. H. Kayton, in the Clerk's Office of the
District Court of the U. S. for the Southern District of Georgia.
THE GREATEST BLESSING OF THE AGE!
PROF. KAYTON'S Great Remedy for Pains and Aches: The OIL OF LIFE!
AN ALMOST INFALLIBLE CURE FOR Rheumatism, Neuralgia, Lumbago, Palms in the Breast, Sides,
Shoulders, Back, and Joints, Toothache, Earache, Nervous Headache, Sprains, Bruises, Swellings,
Burns, Cuts, Insect Stings and Bites, Ground Itch, Chapped Hands and Face, Corns, Bunions, etc. etc.
RELIEVES ANY of THE ABOVE PAINS in FROM 1 TO 5 MINUTES.
The OIL OF LIFE is calculated to check and effectually dissipate more aches and pains, and to give
more ease and comfort to a pain-racked system, than can be effected by any other or all other
medical aid in the same space of time.
This wonderful remedy is fast coming into universal use, from the fact that as soon as it is applied
it miraculously kills all pain. We do not desire you to buy the medicine without first ascertaining
its efficacy. If you have an ache or pain for which it is recommended, come to us, if you have the
opportunity, and we will apply the remedy and guarantee the result.
The OIL OF LIFE penetrates the pores and acts directly on the diseased parts of the body, thus
giving immediate relief and a permanent cure, without any danger from its use under any possible
circumstances.
DIRECTIONS FOR USING KAYTON'S OIL OF LIFE.
For inflammatory Rheumatism.—Wash the affected part once daily with cold water, drying the
same effectually with a coarse towel, then bathe the painful or swollen part freely with the Oil from
three to six times daily, rubbing it well in each time; use the medicine freely, as a limited use of it
will not be sufficient for this disease; from three to twelve bottles are sometimes necessary in bad
cases; keep the bowels open with Kayton's Pills or some other good vegetable cathartic, and keep
the swollen part bandaged with flannel.

For Chronic Rheumatism.—The same as for Inflammatory Rheumatism, except to bathe twice daily
with cold water.
For Neuralgia.—Apply the Oil to the affected part until the pain subsides, rubbing it well in; repeat if
necessary; keep the bowels regular.
For Lumbago, Pains in the Breast, Sides, Shoulders, Back, and Joints.—The same as for
Rheumatism.
For Nervous Headache.—Pour a few drops in the palm of the hand, and apply to the forehead,
rubbing it well in and pressing the head together; inhale freely through the nose, from the bottle. If
the patient has a thick, heavy suit of hair, and the pain is located in any part covered by the hair, it
must be loosened and parted so as to apply the medicine directly to the scalp, rubbing it well in by
running the fingers through the hair.
For Toothache.—Bathe the gum at the root of the aching tooth with the Oil, and apply freely to the
face, directly over the aching tooth and along the jaw, until the pain ceases, which it will invariably
do in a few seconds; if the tooth is hollow, wet cotton with the Oil and put it in the cavity; if an upper
tooth, the head should be thrown back and downward, so that the Oil goes to the root.
For Earache.—Wet cotton with the Oil and put it in the ear, and bathe with the Oil around the ear
and wherever the pain is felt, rubbing it well in.
For Sprains.—Bathe the joints freely with the Oil and rub well in with the hand ten or fifteen
minutes at a time three or four times a day until cured; if in the foot or ancle, a warm foot-bath each
night before retiring will be advantageous, after which apply the Oil; if the joint is much swollen,
bandage tightly, removing the bandage to apply the Oil.
For Bruises, Cuts, Swellings, Insect Stings and Bites.—Use the same as for Sprains, and keep the
bandage wet with the Oil.
For Burns and Scalds.—Wet linen cloths with equal quantities of the Oil and sweet oil, and apply to
the part.
For Corns.—Pare the Corn (without drawing blood) and apply the Oil, and wet a piece of cotton and
keep it on the Corn, repeat daily until the skin becomes natural and the Corn has disappeared.
For Bunions.—Bathe with the Oil and keep a bandage wet with the Oil to the part.

For Ground Itch.—Apply the Oil to the part several times daily.
For Chapped Hands and Face.—Apply the Oil twice or three times daily, rubbing it well in.
KEEP THE BOTTLE TIGHTLY CORKED WHILE NOT IN USE, AND SHAKE WELL BEFORE USING.

Kayton Without this none is genuine. Ask for Kayton's Oil of Life, and take no other preparation, even
though the seller may recommend it to you, as the Proprietor has known of a great many sufferers
who have had other remedies palmed off on them by store keepers and others, because they could
make more in selling an inferior article or something they put up themselves; they care nothing for
your sufferings, therefore be sure you have the genuine Kayton's Oil of Life before you pay out your
money. If the druggist or store keeper in your neighborhood has not got it, send the money to either
of the druggists whose names are below, or to the proprietor, and it will be sent to you by Express.
The Proprietor having secured a copyright on the name “Oil of Life,” it being his trademark , persons
are forewarned using it in any shape.
