- Description:
- A rendition of the Paine College flag, designed by Mrs. Ruth B. Crawford, a 1939 alumna. The flag was adopted in April 1980 by the Board of Trustees. One hand is black and one hand is white, symbolizing the union between the white and black Methodist churches. The hands are tilted upward, symbolic of Paine College’s mission to provide upward mobility opportunities for her sons and daughters. The purple and white strips pointing upward, symbolize the fact that Paine College will take her sons and daughters to the highest level of achievement.
