- A portrait of Dr. Albert Deems Betts, a minister of the South Carolina Conference who was elected the fifth president of Paine College in 1917, and served until 1921. During his administration, Paine acquired ninety one acres of property and the Southern Methodist General Conference of 1918 authorized the raising of $400,000 for Paine College.
