- Nathan Pruitt lost his leg fighting for the Confederate cause; his wooden leg is visible of the front buggy wheel. He gave his bayonet to be placed in the hands of the Confederate monument in Gainesville public square. He served under General Longstreet. Beside him is his wife, Julia Ann P. Smith.
