In 1930, R. I. Tyner bought the plane when new. The plane was then purchased by Frank W. Ellmore, who taught many early aviators from Gainesville to fly. The plane was then sold to Doug Corrigan, who earned the nickname of "Wrong Way Corrigan," who ultimately donated the plane to the Smithsonian.
