- Description:
- Brown's Bridge, 1956. Photograph taken from old Brown's Bridge, on Brown's Bridge Road. The photo was taken prior to the construction of Lake Lanier and a new bridge. This was probably the third bridge to span the Chattahoochee River from Hall County to Forsyth County. An earlier Brown's Bridge was swept away by high waters during the Civil War. The Brown family, for whom the road, bridge, and settlement were named, became prominent citizens of Gainesville, GA.
