- Dr. Lyman Hall was one of the three signers of the Declaration of Independence from Georgia. Hall County was named for Dr. Hall. He was born April 12, 1724 in Wallington, Connecticut, and died in Burke County, GA, October 19, 1790. He was buried at Shell Bluff.
