- Rural school. Photograph showing the Belmont Rural School in 1897. The school stood beside the Gainesville Midland Railroad tracks 10 miles south of Gainesville. Among those in picture are Miss Weatherly, the teacher; Ora and Ella Cobb; Milton and Tucker Tanner; and W. J. Lowery. Others believe this to be Klondike Rural School.
