- U.S. Post Office. Photograph of the cornerstone that was laid for the Federal Building and U.S. Post Office addition on Monday, December 3, 1934. Postmaster General James A. Farley attended the ceremonies, along with Senators Walter F. George and Richard Russell. The Confederate monument of Col. C.C. Sanders is in the left foreground. The original Post Office building was erected in 1910.
