- Pruitt-Barrett fire, April 6, 1936. An air view showing fires of Pruitt-Barrett and Palmour Hardware after the tornado of April 6, 1936. The tornado covered an area from three miles west of Gainesville to four miles east of Gainesville. A distance of eight miles was covered within a space of three minutes or less.
