- Description:
- Among the buildings completely demolished by the tornado were the 4-floor building of Pruitt-Barrett Hardware Co. and the 3-floor Palmour Hardware Co. which were left burning in the rain. Some people burned to death in the fire. Completely ruined were the Dixie Hunt Hotel, the George P. Estes building, and others.
