- Description:
- Fire at Jake Sacks after 1936 tornado. Photograph of Jake Sacks and their buildings on South Bradford Street that were set afire by the tornado on April 6, 1936. Firemen of Gainesville, on duty at that time, had a narrow escape. Windows were smashed, and debris from City Hall blocked the entrance so that fire trucks could not get out. Other buildings on South Bradford Street visible in the photograph include J.M. Parks & Sons, the Hub, and Robinson's.
