- Ollie Denton was a cotton mill worker in East Newnan, Ga. Leander Zimmerman worked in various textile mills as doffer and in the card room. Zimmerman left the mills and became a barber. He is also related to Etta Mae Zimmerman. Etta Mae Zimmerman was a textile worker and union member from Hogansville, Ga.
The first 15 minutes of the video is a recording of various attendants at a cotton mill reunion. Denton discusses working in the textile mills and the textile workers' strike of 1934. Leander Zimmerman discusses the textile workers' strike of 1934 and working as a barber. - Local Identifier:
