- Dr. Elliott White was the son of a mill owner in Graham, N.C. Bill Allen worked at various cotton mills in and around Graham, N.C. Annabelle Schafner was a spinner at Dr. White's father's mill in Graham. William Schafner worked in Dr. White's father's mill.
Dr. White discusses his childhood memories of growing up around the mills of Graham NC,the 1934 strike, Oneida Mill, Sidney Mill, Burlington Mill, and Trollingwood Mill. Allen discusses his work in the cotton mills, his children, the dynamiting of the Plaid Mill, attempts to unionize the mills in Graham, and other topics. Annabelle Schafner discusses her work as a spinner and other topics.
