- Herman "Skip" Mason was born in Atlanta, GA in 1962 at the McLindon hospital owned by a Morehouse graduate, where black doctors were allowed to practice in a small black owned private hospital. He grew up in Atlanta and attended Atlanta Public Schools. He first learned of Ambassador Young when he attended camp blue star in Henderson, NC with Dr. MLK Jr.'s children and Ambassador Young's children.
In this interview, Herman Mason, discusses growing up in Atlanta, GA during the civil rights movement and how he was influenced by his parents who discussed the current events surrounding civil rights. He talks at length about his friendship with the children of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and Andrew Young. He speaks about their influence on the people of Atlanta, GA and the country. - Metadata URL:
