- Dr. Michael H. Mescon was born in Toronto, Canada but grew up in Charleston, SC. His parents were US citizens who owned businesses in Toronto and Montreal. His father was from Lithuania and his mother's ancestry is Russian. He moved to Atlanta, GA after he got married in 1952 and he became an assistant professor of managerial sciences at Georgia State College of Business Administration in 1956 after he had left the army. In 1985 Dr. Mescon became dean of what is now the J Mack Robinson College of Business.
In this interview Dr. Mescon talks about his academic career which began at Georgia State College of Business Administration and his family who were immigrants from Lithuania and Russia. He speaks about entrepreneurship and business ownership. He speaks about private enterprises and how they are much more than economic system they are also part of the political and social system. He argues that just like people need water, food and shelter; enterprises need healthy profits to be able to survive and thrive. - Metadata URL:
