- Description:
- Kevin Henao was born in Brooklyn, N.Y. to Colombian parents. He grew up in the Atlanta area and, as an adult, has lived in Miami, New York, and Atlanta. Henao has owned and operated various businesses and is currently co-owner of the GlobeHUB co-working space in Chamblee, Ga.
In this interview, Kevin Henao briefly describes his parents' early lives and their immigration to New York from Colombia in 1969. He talks about growing up in the Chamblee/Doraville area near Atlanta, and describes the area's shift from a mostly white American population to a mostly immigrant population. He describes childhood memories of time spent with friends and talks about various businesses that operated on the Buford Highway during his time growing up there. Henao discusses moving to Miami as a young adult, where he began his career as a "serial entrepreneur." He talks about his successes, failures, and lessons learned in the realm of business and discusses his current business ventures. The interview concludes with a discussion of Henao's vision for the potential future of the Buford Highway area. - Metadata URL:
