- Description:
- This is a communication from M. Skippy Reeves, refuge manger, to Hillrie Quin, a representative for DuPont. In his letter, Mr. Reeves responds to a request from DuPont regarding research that could show how the proposed strip mine would negatively affect Okefenokee National Wildlife Refuge. He also reiterates that the Wildlife Refuge and the Department of the Interior will not participate in DuPonts attemps to garner support for their mine. Reeves also attaches a 1985 plan for the development of a University of Georgia research and education facility on the refuge. The plan never came to fruition due to budget constraints.
