- Description:
- David Nordan's article in the Georgia Journal discusses the famed comic strip "Pogo" created by Walt Kelly. Wildly successful during its time, and revived by others after his passing, the comic strip presented serious issues in a satirical light. Following this is the P.O.G.O. NEWS, 'newsletter of the Pinhook, Osceola, and Greater Okefenokee Coalition.' The newsletter has articles refering to the outbreak of a massive fire in the Okefenokee and Osceola Refuge and Forest, the history of the Okefenokee, birdwatching in the refuge, and ways to become a P.O.G.O. member.
