- Description:
- A parody of Lamar's work by the same name, first published in 1851. Written in Rutherford's version of the Georgia Cracker dialect, this short work in written in the form of a theater piece. Rutherford was an apologist for the Confederacy and wrote frequently promoting the "Lost Cause." She was against the cause of women's suffrage, and presented a conservative view of the role of women and minorities in the South.
