- Description:
- Description on verso: "ATLANTA CELEBRATES 125TH BIRTHDAY. A 10-foot, 2,000-pound birthday cake is admired by a crowd of thousands in downtown Atlanta shortly before Vice Mayor Maynard Jackson cut the first slice with a sword as the city's 125th anniversary was celebrated. Singer Tommy Roe (center) of Atlanta joined in the entertainment, and former Atlantan Bert Parks sang "Happy Birthday." On Page 2A, photos show what happened to the cake several minutes after officials attending the ceremony on Peachtree Street were served and spectators took their turns."
