- Description:
- Text of letter on Broughton's letterhead: "24 August 88. Dear Brother Franklin. I have been thinking about the theme of your latest book project. I wish I had the spirit energy to write something specific for you, because it is a fascinating theme and I know that in my own case without the dynamic of Image my rewarding life with Joel would not have had the depth and the height it reached. I hope you are gathering some fruitful goodies for the volume. There is one poem I wrote about the entities which inhabit each of my chakras, which might be apropos. It has never been published, and my problem will be finding it among old papers. Will look. I am to be in New York to speak and read at a conference sponsored by The Living Brotherhood called Reclaiming Our Spiritual Heritage. This will be on a Saturday afternoon Oct. 22. I suppose you will be in Atlanta not Manhattan, but maybe someone will come. Of course both Joel & I will be in New York the first week of December, for film shows and for a reading I am doing at La Mama on the 10th. Other news: we will probably be moving to the Northwest at the first of the year. I would appreciate your responses to Seattle, and how you liked the people there (& especially who). We shall have to be relating to the community there when the time comes. Much love and high spirit to you, ever, James."
