- Description:
- Text of letter on Broughton's letterhead: "24 February 1990. Dear Franklin: I am still wanting to know from you precisely what all I shall be expected to provide for your great gathering. Poetry? Films? Guru hat? Lecture notes? And I would like some idea of what day you would wish us to arrive in Atlanta. Your last note said something about an Image beforehand. How much beforehand, and what does it involve? And will you send me a round trip air ticket, or shall I get reimbursed at that end? I have been studying the announcement on gray paper and very understated type, I have been giving thought to a cure for violence between men (which means between countries too, of course), thinking about it for years. And I have my considered statement of this now in the works: my idealistic poet's view cure. Should this be presented as part of the reading? Do you have any lecture spots planned? Or is it all workshops, with 'entertainment' in the evenings, the way they do at the California Mens Gatherings? We both look forward very much to being there, being with you, being with all the men and all their dreams. Love unrestrained to you both. Be permeated with joy. James. PS Do also let me know about sympathetic bookshop in Atlanta, if there is one."
