- David Garner, born in 1959 and raised in Florida, is an HIV survivor and critical care nurse based in Atlanta, Georgia. Garner has a degree in nursing from Georiga State University and years of expereince working at Grady Memorial Hospital.
In this interview, David Garner details his recovery from addiction and PTSD from the AIDs epidemic. Garner also discusses his decision to pursue a career in nursing, including attending Georgia State University's nursing school and working as a critical care nurse at Grady Memorial Hospital. He also reflects on the political and social changes he's witnessed over the past forty years as a gay man, and the differences between the LGBTQ community of the twenty-first century and the gay and lesbian community of the 1980s. - External Identifiers:
