- This envelope includes photographs from a number of commissions from the Garlington-Hardwick Company, insurance agents with an office in the Arcade Building, Atlanta, Georgia. -- Envelope description: Garlington-Hardwick Co., Peachtree Arcade, 1944; Peachtree Street, 615 Wilson Road, 196 Peachtree Way, 1145 West Peachtree Street and 1235 Virginia Avenue; Rhodes Theatre. -- 1944 Lane Brothers Assignment Book (p. 279) describes commission for house at 196 Peachtree Way: "March 30, Garlington-Hardwick Company; 9 photos, 196 Peachtree Way; 1 photo, street scene." W.C. Lane was the photographer. -- The entry for 615 Wilson Road is crossed out in the 1944 Lane Brothers Assignment book (p. 327): "June 8, Garlington and Company; 1 photo house 615 Wilson Road; 1 street scene Wilson; commissioned by Mich Pool." -- 1944 Lane Brothers Assignment Book (p. 362): "August 7, Garlington-Hardwick Company; 2 photos and duplicates; building Peachtree Arcade; [commissioned] by Dick Garlington."
