- In 1943, Tyrone Edmund Power, Jr. enlisted in the U.S. Marines. Power attended the Flight Instructor Instrument School at NAS, Atlanta in 1944. He was assigned to the Marine Transport Squadron VMR-353 in autumn 1944. This is one of five negatives in a series photographed J.H. Lane. The 1943-1944 Lane Brothers Assignment Book (page 448) lists the commission from Harry Cooper for the Lions Club, referring to "5 photos Torone Powers."
